Why do day's off go by so fast?

Well Thursday was my day off and I wanted to get 6-10 scrapbook pages finished, well that didn't happen.  I thought it would be possible because I have many of them kitted up and they just need to be put together, but  LIFE got in the way.  I decided that I couldn't put off going to the Laundromat any longer.  I don't have a washer and dryer...so most mornings I drop off a load of wash at my parents when I drop my kids at school and mom who is an angel...washes, dries and folds it and delivers it back to my house in the evening when she drops my kids at home. (***yes, I am spoiled!**).  The wash pile was getting pretty large so Cassidy and I took it to the Laundromat....which took a big chunk of time because one load didn't wash properly. The good news is that I got one layout done.
This was another layout for a challenge at Two peas in a bucket. The challenge was to scrap lift a Garden Girl.  Well the week before I had seen this layout from Jill Sprott and I knew that I wanted to use these 5 little photos I had of Jacobs favorite things.  So I broke open my new Basic Grey: Fact or Fiction papers that I  got from Joann's.  In  retrospect, I wish  i had matted the photos on something dark....but I love the brown and green color scheme.

After reading the message boards at Two peas, I also decided to start my mass production of Christmas cards.  So I worked on my design and looked in my stash and came up with this for our Petersen Christmas card 2012.
After such a tough year with the passing of the kids dad, I decided that we needed to send out something fun and whimsical for the holidays. I am quite happy with the finished card.
Happy Friday and have fun making YOUR OWN ART!

Two Peas Challenge

I love the challenges at Two peas in a bucket.  The video and challenge for Memory Keeping Monday last week was to use a collection kit and use it for different techniques on a page.  Well I had a pack of This and That Graceful by Echo Park that I had never opened and I had some pictures of Cassiday at a Girl SCout Lock-in that I had printed but never scrapped.  I decided that this girly paper was right to use with these pictures.  I loved the border strip that said "She is important. She is kind.  She is Smart."  So I cut that strip up to make a Sub-title underneath my dear daugher's name. Jen had included a die-cut also...but I honestly my die cutting machine's are hard to get to right now...so I just used the sticker sheet.

These two pages will be side by side in her Cassidy album.  I have decided to put them in her regular album and not her Girl Scout Album.  She has made almost all the pages in her  second Girl Scout Album and I thought that I will keep that purely her own art.
Tomorrow is one of my few days off before christmas and I am challenging myself to making 6-10 layouts tomorrow.  This is because I have several pages kitted up and just need the final push to turn them into pages...I will let you know how the Thursday marathon goes!
Thanks for stopping by and have fun making YOUR OWN ART!

Another Fishing Page

I love Shimelle Laine's scrapbooking classes. I am currently taking Remix, although I haven't been able to play along to much, I finally made a page using a prompt from the class and created a page for my parents Christmas gift album.  I lifted a page from Shimelle using the quadrant idea. It worked up rather quickly!
Michael is a special member of my family.  He is my children's brother from their father and stepmom.  Our family's have always treated each other as one family.  Michael absolutely loves Jacob his older brother by 10 years.  Michael and I have a special relationship...he once told his teacher that Sharmon was his BFF.  His mother then had to explain to his teacher that his father's ex-wife was Michael's best friend.  Sounds Weird, huh?  but boy was I honored!
So every year my Parents, Aunts and Cousins plan a Klenk Camp Weekend at a different Michigan State Park.  We want our children (The great grandkids) to be able to know each other because we live all throughout the state.  It is amazing how great the kids play together even though they only see each other once a year!  Now the older children are getting to know each other even better due to being friends on facebook.  Michael loves to come to Klenk Camp even though he is not a "Klenk".  I love that all the cousins treat him as one of the kids!  He looks forward to this each year!  Last January when my ex-husband passed away, (michael's father), my Aunts and Cousins drove very long distances in very bad weather to be there for both my children and Micheal.  That is what Family is all about!

Busy Thursday!

Yesterday was Thursday which is my usual day off.....I did go into work for a couple hours to do some cleaning but after I picked up the kids I got to craft!!!

I made a scrapbook page for the Find Your Mojo Challenge #1.  The challenge was to scraplift the item most recently bookmarked in the gallery.  Of course I couldn't remember what the last thing I bookmarked was....so I had to take a look...and it was a beautiful layout by Liz Qualman using the Simple Stories Snap line.  Well I don't have the Snap LIne but I am currently making a Christmas gift album using Simple Stories Take a HIke line.....so this worked out great I got to do a challenge and make a page for the gift album. Here what i created:

Thursdays is also the day I put my finishing touches on my Art Journal Challenge (10.26.12) from the previous week and issue a new challenge ( AJ Challenge 11.1.12). Last weeks challenge was to use these four items
